Amy Gesenhues

Head of Content

Amy is a storyteller at heart, forever looking for the most compelling hook. She has been writing stories about technology companies for more than a decade, first as a journalist and then as a content strategist. Her career as a marketer and content producer, combined with her days covering the marketing technology industry, puts her in a unique position to quickly identify and amplify the technology stories that matter most.

As Head of Content, Amy leads Activa PR’s content marketing services, working directly with clients to build content strategies that seamlessly align with their marketing communications efforts. Her primary goal is to help clients tell meaningful stories that enable them to truly connect with their audience, whether that means customers, journalists, business partners or investors.

Prior to joining Activa PR, Amy served as a senior content strategist for Oracle, executing comprehensive content marketing strategies for Oracle Advertising and Customer Experience solutions. Her career in tech began nearly two decades ago as the marketing director for a firm that produced automated demonstrations for software and website companies. She eventually transitioned into a full-time writing career as an editor at Third Door Media, covering search, social media ad networks, and martech on Search Engine Land, Marketing Land, and Martech Today (now Martech.org).

Amy is a published essayist and, once upon a time, wrote a weekly syndicated column that appeared in a number of daily newspapers across the country.

Amy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University, majoring in English literature with a minor in women’s studies. She lives in Southern Indiana with her husband, two kids, and too many pets to name. When she’s not writing, Amy spends most of her time drinking coffee and reading memoirs
